Baccarat is a very popular casino game.
It is in the top 10. Baccarat stands to the nearly single toss in the on-line casinos. The essence of Baccarat is that first you have to guess whether the player or the bankers win the given hand. It is a very simple game with only three types of bets.
Players can bet or on the banker cards, or the player´s, or standoff. Standoff means a tie round.
Each player plays with the same hand, so it can be considered a community game. In baccarat both the players, both the dealer has one goal: to get as close as they can to the value of 9. Also in this kind of game, the values of the cards are a little different. Each ace has a value of one, the tens are considered as zero, and the other cards are counted as their value. The highest point value is 9. Whether the value of 9 is reached by only two cards, it is called "natural", and that hand can not lose. The second best point value is 8. This is also named "natural". In the case when the player and the bank have the same cards, it is called a "tie" and none of them will win. After the players put their bets, they don´t have to do much. The players and the banker get two cards each. They have to count the values of the two cards. If the values of the cards are more than ten,
it only takes to subtract the ten and the value that remains will be the point. For example 8+8=16, considering the baccarat rules it will count 16-10=6. An ace and a nine are 10, so the point will be 0, because the ace is considered one and ten is considered 0, 1+9=0. At first look it is a little strange, but every player can
easily get used to it.
The game of baccarat is played around a special baccarat layout table. Those players who played craps before may say that the two tables are similar. The size of the table is quite big, so it can host many players, mostly around 12-14 players. Next to each baccarat table there are three dealers to manage the game. Two of them are helping the players on the two sides of the table, and the third is responsible for the game. The outcome
of the game is very simple. The players have to put their bets on the mark on which they want to bet. These can be the bank, the player or tie. There is another kind of bet. There are two combinations:
Banker and Tie, or Player and Tie. After the bet, the players and the bank get their two cards. The third card is given by the rules of baccarat. If the player reaches "natural", that is nine or eight, wins. Those are the winners whose cards are closer to nine. If it is tie with the bank, nobody wins. The rule for the third card is a little complicated. Here the rules, considering the players: whether the value of the two cards is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, the player gets the third card. If it is 6 or 7, the player stops. For 8 or 9, "natural" card, won´t get a third card. As for the bank, it is different. Whether the first two card value is 0, 1, 2, the bank always has to get another, a third card. If the value of the two cards is 3 and the player card value is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9,
must get a third card. He won´t get another card only if the player card value is 8. For the first two card value is 4, will get a third card if the player has 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and wont get it if the player has 0, 1, 8, 9. If it is 5, the value of the first two and the player has 4, 5, 6, 7, will get the third card. If it is 6 and the player has 6, 7, the third card will be given. When the first two card value is 7, the bank always stops. Finally, when the bank has "natural" cards (8, 9) the player can´t get a third card.
As it seems, players must learn some rules before starting a game of baccarat.
Each player has 50-50 % to win, but it would be a mistake if a player would jump into the "deep water" and run to the nearest casino to play baccarat after reading the rules. It is true that in casinos, the dealers are helping the players to play, but they are not there to win for the players.
