    What a wonderful idea Vicki.

One favorite thing I love to do is go look at all the
Christmas lights. It's always best if it's snowing
    just a bit.

Thats how we do celebrate here in Germany:

At dec the 24th evening time is the so called "Holy Evening", Heiligabend in german language.
At that evening the gifts under the tree are allowed to be unwrapped by the kids. They do not have to wait til christmas morning..hahaha!

Dinner at Heiligabend is usually sausages and potatoe salad.

Next two days we spent with family and have huge meals, deer or goose mostly.

Kids are busy with playing with their new toys and nagging

Moms are busy with cooking, cleaning and nagging.

Dads are busy with hiding from moms relatives and get drunk.

Our christmas starts on the 24th with a good meal, usually get duck or goose and in the evening we open the presents and that is basically how we do it in The Faroe Islands :merrychristmas: :merryxmas: :merrychristmas:

My family celebrates Christmas. We always let the kids open one gift on Christmas Eve but we get to pick ( NO TOYS, cant get them too excited and then try to get them to go to sleep, lol. ) Then the kids wake us up way too early so they can open all their gifts. Then we have a big Turkey dinner with all the fixins!:merrychristmas:

I come from a Italian and Spanish home, we always celebrate Noche Buena which is Christmas eve.My aunt always makes a pig , we have traditional Spanish and Italian foods and sweets, there is music and dancing. My aunt has over 100 friends and family through out the evening. The children open gifts given by aunts and uncles and friends. Usually go to midnight mass , home to sleep and then "HERE comes Santa!"

Christmas morning , I make coffee cake and homemade Italian donuts .
We stop every Christmas morning to think about those loved ones that are with us as spirits and share memories of them.
I love our traditions that have been going on since before I was born. They continue with my 4 kids and 8 grandchildren and one other on the way.
May your Christmas be filled with Love and Happiness

When I was a kid, My dad and mom used to fill us up in the car and drive around and look at Christmas lights. However, after the 10th (of 12) was born the tradition ended. I still really like Chrsmas lights though! tcsr00299376

    Hi all

I'm in Canada. I was born here. My grandfather came over here from England on the orphan boats.

We celebrate on Dec 25 with food and gifts.
