The first FedEx Cup Playoff Tournament lived up to the hype!
The winner of the Barclays was almost decided by a 5-way playoff that would have included Tiger Woods, Padraig Harrington, Steve Stricker, and Ernie Els.
However, it was relative unknown Heath Slocum who sunk a 21-foot par putt on the 18th hole to win his third career PGA Tour event.
This win was Slocums first against golf's elite - his other two wins occurred in opposite field events.
Tiger missed a 7-foot birdie putt on the 18th that would have moved him into a tie for the lead. Tiger is striking the ball well, but is not making as many
putts as his fans have come to expect. Tiger, along with, Harrington, Stricker, and Els, sit 1550 points behind Slocum for the FedEx Cup and a reward of US$10M!
The field has been cut to 100 for the second of four PGA playoff events.
This week's event: Deutsche Bank Championship @ TPC of Boston
