The Rock,rural Iowa USA...WOW!

There is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy. 25 in rural Iowa .
For generations, kids have painted slogans, names,
and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times.
I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not.
It's actually painted on the rock too.



A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job,
and since then it has been left completely undisturbed.
It's quite an impressive sight.

Thank God I'm an American, is all I can say! Only in this wonderous country can a Nazi have his say, even though the rest of us (I hope) find it repulsive. I know other countries have some things better than us, ie; health care in Canada, but I truly appreciate that I am a free woman, especially when I see the oppressed millions world-wide. I'm so glad we kicked the taliban's ass!!!! (you notice I did not, nor will I ever, capitalize that word, as it does not deserve anything of the kind)

But, as a woman of 54, I have lived through the time when it was not against the law for a man to beat his wife. If the police were called, they refused to get involved in a "domestic matter" as it was called back when I was younger. It was not against the law until 1984. Think about that. 1984. Just 25 years ago! Well, thank God we smartened up, huh?
