Grande Vegas Payout

    This is my second payout with this casino, the first was for $200.10. This one was for $500.18. So first I try to auto deposit the check at the Chase ATM and it did not work. Same thing happened last time, but I thought (and was told too!) that it was because of a "dangling chad" that I left on the check. Okay so it took them a few minutes at the Teller to realize they need a different code to deposit since it's a foreign bank. But I got the whole amount deposited no problem.

    Today, when I tried to deposit the $500, again I must use Teller services, but this time I am deducted money for the Exchange Rate for Canadian money! The check was deposited for $447.27, over $50 less for which it was written. I am so confused guys. I am not great with math and finances. Shouldn't the bank of Nova Scotia eaten or factored in this cost? Is this usual? Did the bank make a mistake? Help please!

    Wow. this a lot of fees Lucky3Sevens,
    This is more than 10%, I would ask the Teller service.

    Is this Teller Service in Canada?

    Exchange rates can be really expensive.

    I hope it is a mistake Lucky3Sevens but it could really be like it is.

    Here they charge sometimes for a foreign check a horrible amount, this is why I never took it again. This depends on your bank how much fees they have. The most money they earn with buying / selling currencies. I see it at some casinos when I deposit and withdraw there. I nearly lose 10% than.

    Lucy3Sevens, I would also inquire with the casino regarding the currency.

    Usually payouts are done in the currency you deposited with and could see the bank converting it.

    But those fees are incredible. As Marina said ask Teller services. I bet there are some other fees in there
