I think that a player have to be a lot of patience specially on the final table, unless you are short stacked, if you have few chips you probably have to go all-in with a medium hand ex:A10, or a medium pair if you have one of course ex:77, and then hope for be lucky when the cards lay down and double-up or expect them to fold and steal the blinds wich on a final table are very important due to their high value, position is very important too, you dont wish to be on the right of the chip leader, the bluffs probably wouldnt work because he will call you without thinking twice, then when the table becomes shorter in terms of players the value of the hands increases tremendly, a suited conector like J10 of hearts for example in a table with 3 players is a monster hand, you can also disguise the strenght of your hand by making a call with AA instead of a raise and post flop check even you hit some kind of hand, maybe you can check into the turn and if the other player continues to check on the river you make a for example a raise 3x the BB, and the other player probably will think you are bluffing then he makes a re-raise, know the pot is huge and he is pot commited, so if you go all-in with it is the stronger hand he has to call because he is commited(this is just an example, i dont advice bluffing a lot of times because you give free cards to your opponent and let him hits his game).
PS - This depend of your style of playing you can be an agressive player, or a passive player or a mix of the two, on online poker you can only read the players by the bets they made so my advice to all the online players is patience, creativity, and concentration.
