Unlike other forms of gambling, such as poker or bingo, slots tend to be a solo activity. While some people enjoy having a partner in crime at their side, it’s still hard for a
newcomer to imagine it being a competitive game. Yet, in both land-based and online casinos, slot tournaments do exist, and they can be a ton of fun for those who choose to participate.

The following will cover what slot tournaments are, how they work and how to get started if you think it’s something you’ll enjoy.

Who Can Play

Slot tournaments can be broken into two main groups. There are some which are held by invitation-only and others in which anyone can play. Land-based casinos may allow anyone to sign up
in advance or simply allow members of their club to participate. Online varieties will do the same, but may limit it to certain groups of people who have memberships on their site.

The Buy-In

Inreal life, you might normally carry a bucket of coins or a specially designed card to your machine. In the virtual world, you’d load up your account or make a deposit. Then, you’d spend coins based
on your personal method of betting. In a tournament, you don’t feed the machine. Instead, you buy your way into the tournament by paying a placement or entry fee. The money that is collected from
each participant then goes into a pool.

The Pool

Naturally, the casino typically likes to hold onto a tidy sum for itself, but this isn’t always so. If their goal is to bring more people in, market, or raise awareness, they may give all earnings back to the participants.
Similarly, they might also not charge an entry fee and pay out winnings entirely on their own. The pool is broke n up into placements, such as first, second and third, with each being allotted a specific cash value.
This amount will vary at each tournament.

Gameplay

It’s common for tournaments to have numerous rounds. The rounds are timed and could only be a matter of minutes, though may be much longer. In a land-based casino, participants will select a machine
of their choice, and it will come pre-loaded with a fixed number of credits. Online, participants will also have a set number of credits, though there’s no fighting over the “lucky machine,” as everyone can play
what they wish. When gameplay begins, a timer starts, and everyone is instructed to play as they normally would. The main difference here is that people will play as rapidly as possible, trying to get as many
spins as imaginable in before time runs out. It can be an absolute treat to see the flurry of motions as an entire group of people participates in a real-life tournament.

Winning

Tournament structure will vary depending on the venue. The rounds may have a point value assigned or each placement may net a specific amount of points. Sometimes, people with fewer credits left are
eliminated. Other times, everyone is allowed to progress to the next round. The one thing they all have in common is that participants will not win the amount of credits on their machine at the end. Instead,
winners are determined by the number of credits and each person who places will collect the prize associated with their placement. Almost all will award the top earners, but some will liven things up by also
awarding the person who has the lowest or will come up with another alternative.

How to Sign Up

In order to get an invitation to an online slot tournament, most of the time you simply need to be a member of their site. They’re likely to publicize the event on the home page or send out e-mails to
registered players. If they’re only allowing specific members of the site to participate, you’re probably out of luck. Many online tournaments are considered to be open, because anyone can play, but
you’ll still need to register with the site and become a member.

You can find slot tournaments at many online casinos. It’s also helpful to be a member of a gambling forum that discusses online slots, as those can be a hub of information regarding all casinos.
Forum members will belong to various sites and will have an idea as to which ones pay the best, are the most fun and have simplified rules.

Before you sign up for a site or tournament, it’s a good idea to read through the rules so you can be sure you qualify for winnings and to make gameplay easier. If the contest is limited to a specific game,
you should also read through its rules in advance and practice it on a free or demo mode before you’re being timed.

I love the slot tournaments as well. A lot of the Casino's online offer them. Microgaming, RTG, WMS and more.

It's worth your time to see if something is offered for you to play. Always nice to win a few buck if you're on a low week of depositing.
It could keep you playing till you're able to deposit or even have your name in lights for winning.

Crossing my fingers that you will win again a nice slot tournametn Queenmap.
I know RTG Casinos have many times nice tournaments, are you playing some of them?

Pitty that U.S. players cannot play in Microgaming Slot Tournaments.

I love tournaments at Microgaming and the best ones are the freerolls with one shot. It is nice to play against the other with the same chance.

The big freerolls with some thousand € prizes are sure in the hand of the profi gamblers with nice bankrolls. They always buy addons until the max and therefore is there no chance for getting as big freebie, but sometimes a small one. Sometimes I look at the paytable of the slot and see that the leader has lots more than max possible win and a lot of coins left because times always to short.
I am happy if I win anything in free tourns without add on. With addon is no thrill in it.

Thanks. I love those unexpected wins...lol. Played a little with it and cashed out 75€. I noticed, I´m doing better with microgaming tournaments if I start to play them short before they end.

K, kotsy wants to fly to Europe just to play microgaming and Ellis gonna put me in the garden? At least Mike and Marina offered me a place under the stairs.

Never mind all that, many of the Online Casino's offer slot tournaments with a small fee for entrant, but my favorite are the Free Slot Tournaments and they are abundant amongst all types of software. Did you know that Microgaming, BetOnSoft, RTG and many more offer a variety of free slot tournaments?

You could win some nice free money and keep your game playing alive with the winnings.

Checkout your favorite online casino and see if they offer free slot tournaments.
