It's always interesting to see what people like to bet on. I've always been intrigued as to how some of the bets come about.
I can remember as a kid, I would always be "dared" to do something. Was that a bet to some degree? Was the prosperity of winning an initiative to go for it?
Could it just be the glory of winning so you can boast about it? No matter, betting has been going on for ages and it's not just about betting or winning cash.
People have been known to bet their jewelry or throw their car keys into the pot. They will take any means to stay in the game.

Recently, I came across some of the wildest bets made and really made me wonder. Most of the oddest bets were done by professional gamblers.
It must be in their blood. Many of them are at the poker tables earning their salary on a daily basis. They may not be there 24/7, so that leaves them some "recreational" time
for gambling. Driving to and from one place may lead to a bet as to how long it will take them to get there. How many red lights will they encounter.
How many women will they see with white pants on. Random as they are, they are still bets. Here are some more of the oddest bets.

Years ago, a man was dared to get breast implants and he had to keep them for a year in order to win $100,000. Not only did he have the implants done,
and won the $100,000, he gets an additional $10,000 for every year he keeps them. Wonder who paid for the surgery?

A cheeseburger worth $10K? You bet! no pun intended. Professional poker player Howard Lederer had undergone some radical surgery to get his weight in control.
As a result, he became a vegetarian and was doing great. Years after the procedure and living a life of health, a fellow poker player bet him $10k if he would eat a cheeseburger.
No word on whether Howard enjoyed it, but for $10k, McDonalds could be quite happy.

A $15,000 to $1,000 bet was to good to pass up from the late Johnny Moss. He was offered a bet in reference to a good old bar fight. A patron who was a regular and known to get into fights was in
the house. Johnny was bet that if he couldn't beat this guy up and that he had to get in the first punch. I guess landing in the hospital and some extra cash in your pocket made this bet to good to pass up.

This one is pretty crazy. To pee or not to pee. That is the question. A man playing poker, bet another poker player that he had a container of urine in his car to pass a drug test. A $300 bet was made
and after the poker game, the man who initiated the bet, called it a crazy bet and reneged on it. The guy who took him up on the bet was so furious that he beat him up and ended up in jail as a result.

These are just a few of the craziest ones I've come across and will post more as I find them.

We all like a good bet now and then, but always remember the consequences whether you win or loose.

Betting and gambling is fascinating many people and I would say some are kind of sick, they must bet on really anything :)
