The ICE Conference

The International Casino Expo (ICE) was held in London from February 2-5, 2015.
The exposition was attended by a record 25,000 participants, and was highlighted by eight separate events:

  • International Casino Conference – including attendance by executives from some of the largest European casino groups
  • World Regulatory Briefing – as indicated by the name, this is a chance to get updated on significant regulatory activities
    and developments that can impact the gaming industry, world-wide

    and resulting actionable measures that the corporation may undertake from the analyses.
  • Cross-Platform and Multi-Channel Gaming – key gaming operators share views and strategy on addressing customer at the focal point of multi-channel operations.
  • Lotteries for the Future – Knowledge-sharing opportunity for brainstorming future potential direction, strategy, planning, and innovation in the lottery industry.
  • Game Design and Development – Addresses how to create games that are more dynamic and innovative, and that address customer psychology for increased penetration in the market.
  • Betmarkets – review of strategies to increase play propositions, use of multi-screen betting, mobile gaming, social and sports betting, and access into new markets.
  • Cybercrime, Security, and Regulatory Compliance – Discussions for executives responsible for anti-fraud, risk, security, compliance, and payments.
    This addresses best practices for both online and terrestrial operations.
Many useful seminars are also available to ICE conference attendees, covering such topics as regulatory issues, tribal gaming opportunities, start-up mentoring, product demonstrations,
and digital currencies such as Bitcoins.

ICE provides an ideal environment for gaming industry executives and operators to network with others in similar businesses, exchange ideas, and research opportunities for

The biggest names in the industry participate in the expo, as well as start-up operators looking for insight and market opportunities.

Over 500 companies were represented on this year’s exhibition floor, including businesses from over 60 countries. Exhibitors include game manufacturers, software developers, operators, and more.
One lucky participant at the exhibition was the recipient of a promotion that rewarded an around-the-world flight ticket, valued at $4,500 (US), as part of a Jules Verne-themed campaign.

New from the ICE Conference

A number of significant announcements came from this year’s ICE expo.

BetSoft announced the release their new Pinocchio slot, which is available in both desktop and mobile platforms. This has been a highly-anticipated release, partly due to the high quality associated
with BetSoft’s suite of games.

GTECH and MGM Resorts International have signed an agreement to provide sports betting and the GTECH OnPremise Mobile Solutions. MGM will provide the features to their resort guests later
this summer. The agreement covers multiple MGM properties, enabling customers to place sports bets via their mobile devices at any time, from anywhere in the state of Nevada. This will also provide
MGM customers the ability to play real-money on-premises mobile casino games and slots, while on MGM properties, using their own personal smartphones or tablets. MGM Resorts is a long-time GTECH
customer, with the company’s slots and games available within 13 MGM properties.

In the world of digital currency, Cubits announced a partnership with SoftSwiss, one of the largest online B2B casino companies. SoftSwiss currently operates over 14 online casinos. Cubits is one of few
Bitcoin firms operating out of Europe, and supports 17 currencies. The partnership will allow SoftSwiss to offer the use of Bitcoin currency transactions, using Cubit’s services of Cubits Wallet for users,
and Cubits Pay for businesses.

SBTech showcased their new turnkey gaming platform, Chameleon360, and their new generation of mobile and retail products. Chameleon360 is a gaming and betting platform that provides multiple
product and multi-channel control of operations. This allows management of a variety of gaming titles from leading providers, as well as a sports book offering. SBTech presented a new suite of mobile
products, supporting tablets and other touch screen devices. SBTech expects to experience an increase in new customer interest as a result of these new developments. Chameleon360 provide a one-stop
-shopping experience for true gaming and betting online, with full control by the business owner. SBTech has been providing leading-edge interactive sports betting solutions since established in 2007.


Expectations are already high for the 2016 ICE event, as reaction from many long-time and first-time attendees was extremely positive.
Exhibitors also expressed the same satisfaction with the event and attendance.
